An acoustic guitar, sentimental lyrics and delicate (but very Irish) vocals - that's the music of Damien Rice. His music combining elements of indie rock and folk, he emerged as a solo artist in the early '00s, with songs like "9 Crimes" and "The Blower's Daughter" becoming some of his most well-known. Damien's vocal approach varies between being soft and timid - as heard in songs like "Cannonball" and "Cold Water" - to being raw and powerful, as heard in songs like "I Remember" and "Rootless Tree". Likely a higher-placed baritone, his upper chest register is confident throughout the fourth octave, as is his airy-sounding head voice.
