Andrew Schwab
Associated Acts: Project 86 (1996-2023), London SiX Echo (2014–present)
Vocal Range: G♯1-E♭5 (3 octaves, 7 notes)
Vocal Type: Caveman Jamming OMNI-Defying Baritone
{Vocal Summary}
Praised for his aggressive and expressive delivery along with his deeply poetic lyrics about emptiness, longing, spirituality and social issues, Andrew Schwab of the acclaimed alternative metal/post-hardcore band, Project 86, has seen one of the more talented and renowned vocalists in the Christian rock and metal scene. His vocal style has been described as angry and uncompressing using mostly yells and spoken word delivery in a rap flow in the early two albums of the band’s career. However, around Truthless Heroes, he has demonstrated to be a melodic singer while not being classically trained in singing, still manages to have very powerful melodic expressions able to sing the upper 4th octave-bottom 5th octave without much issue. Though his early aggressive rap flow yelling has not disappeared, around the works in the late 2000s to early 2010s, he has developed more melodic side to his voice where screaming has gotten more reserved as a result of some vocal issues, he went through though some of the early aggression did return in works later. His lower range is also impressive while mostly used when using a spoken word delivering, he has been proven to sing a low baritone range both mainly and in the background around C#2 or lower. His screams tend to be high and very aggressive and in late 2010s has him having developed a more death growl turn to his unclean vocals in recent works. While his voice may not be everyone’s cup of tea due to how angry he tends to sound, he is nevertheless one of the most unique singers in a scene usually criticized for being one-note and cheesy.
