Justin Benlolo
Associated Acts: BRKN LOVE (2019 - present)
Vocal Range: F2 - G5
{Vocal Summary}As frontman, guitarist, and leader of up-and-coming hard rock band BRKN LOVE, Toronto-born musician Justin Benlolo has hit the ground running, creating a heavy yet accessible sound that is seemingly built for raucous live shows. His vocal work is a shining example of this approach. A good, old fashioned hard rock tenor, Benlolo's approach is clearly influenced by the greats of the genre, particularly '90s-era powerhouses like Layne Staley and Chris Cornell. While he does have his softer moments, it's clear that his main comfort zone as a singer is a full-throttle, often multilayered approach that sounds as big, loud and distorted as the band's riffs. To be fair, he can be argued to sit a bit too carefully within that comfort zone, with an underused lower register and a general reluctance to go much above the upper limits of his belting range at D5 or so. Still, he's already begun taking tentative steps towards branching out vocally in the band's recent material, and any fan of raucous, tight rock music should definitely check his band out live if nothing else.
