This thread will be used to vote for the categories in the upcoming round. Odd-numbered rounds will have categories voted on by contestants, while even-numbered rounds will have their own special categories. To help everyone aptly prepare their clips I've made a spoiler box containing all of the potential categories that might come up during the Clip-Off, which will be edited accordingly as categories are spent.

• Best Usage of Chest Voice and Best Usage of Head Voice/Falsetto are reserved for Round Two.
• Best High Singing, Best Low Singing and Best Usage of Mid-Range are reserved for Round Four.
• Best Singing Spanning an Octave or Less and Best Singing Spanning Two Octaves or More are reserved for Round Six.
• Best Live Performance and Best Studio Performance are reserved for Round Eight.
• You don't have to know what goes into each of these categories, as I will have a definition ready for each category when a poll for voting for them comes up, so you know what you're getting yourself into.
• This thread may be used if you have any new categories in mind (or just general recommendations or queries concerning the categories) that you feel might work for the contest.

Leave a post below saying which category you'd prefer to have in Round One. If another user has already voted for a category you want, you don't have to make a separate post, just like their post and we'll count it as a vote.

Best A Cappella Singing: Singing without instrumental accompaniment. The singer can be accompanied by other voices, however.
Best Breath Control: A performance that shows off an impressive level of control in volume or endurance with the singer's breathing, for example by sustaining particularly long notes or keeping a consistent tone through a long or fast musical passage.
Best Early Career Performance: Any professional performance up to and including the first 20% of the singer's adult (18+) career.
Best Melismatic Singing: The singing of successive notes that are represented with the same syllable each time. Oh yeah, and the singing is supposed to be legato (as opposed to staccato), obviously.
Best Sustained Low Note(s): A performance focused on holding one or more low notes (relative to the singer) for an extended period of time.
Best Vocal Opening: A passage that starts off the song's vocal part in a way that is interesting or impressive.

Bear in mind that you can only vote for one category at a time!
