{Vocal Summary}
Lot’s of people especially when comes to Christian fans of rock and metal may give special recommendations of bands that may sound similar to other secular bands. Ohio native, Darin Keim of the alternative metal band, Staple has been said that his band have a lot of similarities between Disturbed or System Of A Down of all bands and in some retrospect the similarities can be found. Keim’s voice while not as high as Tankian or raspy as Draiman is a super expression vocalist from frantic deliveries from cleans and uncleans managing to perfectly mesh them together in every song. Keim is a baritone however mostly sings in a high register giving a lot of urgency in his voice as if the character within a song is at a breaking point which can be apparent from his introspective lyrics on social and personal issues. His screams are also well known as every single song of his contains both vocal styles as he can transition from singing to screaming in a matter of seconds and in an unpredictable manner. His lower range however sadly is rarely used and for the most part uses it as backing vocals or when he does spoken word passages which again feed into the urgent tone of his music. Keim is a very underrated vocalist not just in Christian alt metal but alt metal in general as his sincere emotion is something that can be imitated but not faked and only time will tell if he will continue in expressing his range in more music.
