Jason Moncivaiz
Associated Acts: Justifide (1999–2006, 2014-2015), Reform The Resistance (2007–present)
Vocal Range: F2-D5 (2 octaves, 9 notes)
Vocal Type: 9 Out Of 10or
{Vocal Summary}
Mostly with nu metal most vocalists have a lot of versatility in their voice from singing, rapping and screaming and maybe all in one song. Arizona native, Jason Moncivaiz definitely fits this description and has made a name for himself despite his projects not being that well known such as him fronted the underrated nu metal band Justifide and the experimental rap rock post-rock fusion Reform The Resistance. Moncivaiz voice is very expressive being able to have the correct mood depending on the song he is singing rapping or screaming. His voice is very similar to the likes of Chino Moreno or Brandon Boyd as a mid range tenor with a lot of fun and emotional moments. His voice can go high enough around B♭s but that part of him got more comfortable later in his career with the latest EP for Justifide and his work with RTR. He also screams, although his screams tend to be mostly mid-range with only a few moments where he manges to almost hit the fifth octave. However, something that I really appreciated is that unlike most nu metal or post-grunge singers who barely use their lower range, he is an exception who uses all he can to match the tone of the songs. Apart from Sonny Sandoval, Jason Moncivaiz is an exceptional and talented Christian Latino singer whose works are highly underrated and a must for anyone who is into nu-metal.
