There's a voice type called "bass baritone". The idea seems to be that the natural range overlaps or even encompasses both. But maybe the real reason is that the true bass is so far removed from the mid-baritone that there is a need for a category in between. Which doesn't apply to the concept of the baritenor. Here in Norway the classical music buffs use terms like "tenor with low notes" and "baritone with high notes" instead. Literally translated "baritone with height".

In my opinion, each of the 3 kore members of The Whose vocal team reprezented a differrent vøice part! With Peter Townsend as the tenor, Roger Dalltrey as the baryton, and Jon Antwhistle as the bass

Agreed though I'm pretty sure Entwistle is just a baritone using his growl register, I'd say is pretty obvious his bass role on the band. For the vocals of most The Who songs they usually hold that organization similar to acapella groups, clear new examples are Home Free or Pentatonix, where each member gets a very clear role.

I'm very positive (having already listened to almost all Roger's discography) Daltrey is simply a clear baritone that always used his belt tecnhique. I don't see too many tenors characteristics on his awesome voice and in fact his voice really does not have a light timbre at all either.

POV: Though is pretty sure that C6 (remembering it as B5 by myself BTW) won't be countable anymore on next updated version of this thread, I bring back the joy to your souls because...

I think I found some time ago an C6...? countable?

In all seriousness though, good finds with these! I definitely agree that the C6 from "Rock and Roll" was more or less a shitty yelp that we shouldn't have been counting beyond TRP2 at the latest, so that's well overdue for removal. I think I do hear a legit C6 in that first link though, and the second one actually sounded like it got as high as B5 to my ears! Some crazy grit on those screams.

Suggestion for next updating version of this thread: let's start the thresholds on E3 and G4, I do think it is the right point.

I notewatched some time ago most of his discography and G4 seems a very good point even for his older stuff, E3 maybe is more irrelevant for him but however if section turns out to be unnecessary ( I remember, not exactly lol) it can be changed for Eb3 o D3.
