Tedd Cookerly
Associated Acts: Every Day Life (1992–present)
Vocal Range: E2-E♭5 (2 octaves, 11 notes)
Vocal Type: Disgruntled American Tenor
{Vocal Summary}
Usually, rappers are not really seen as fitting the criteria as "actual singers" with some exceptions who like to mix up their voice with melody. California resident, Tedd Cookerly of the controversial rapcore group Every Day Life, may not be a "singer" per say with only a few times he actually sings; however, he makes up due to his expressive voice and impressive flow. Style-wise, Cookerly is a tenor who gives a very youthful delivery to his voice with a since of angst and urgency especially when during the time Christian bands have not had the courage to write the time of songs that he wrote which ranged from very detailed descriptions of consequences of strong drug use, depression, s**cide, r*pe, and the exploitation of Native Americans. His flow is top-notched being able to rap in a consistent rhythm and can do it low, mid-range to high. Another expression he uses a lot is screaming where he does bring a lot of that hardcore punk aggression and a lot of distortion to the point where his screaming voice and his rapping voice would confuse a first-time listener in think that they are two different people as his rap voice sounds organized while his screaming voice sounds distorted like crazy. Cookerly is a man of honesty and rawness and from his work he has cemented himself as courageous lyricist and a dynamic vocalist.
