Beloved stage star famed for her pristine voice, Maureen McGovern became a household name after the success of Academy Award winning "The Morning After" before moving onto traditional pop and musical theatre work. Maureen's voice is quite something; often acclaimed for her vocal range, Maureen is an impressively technical singer, having excellent breath control (see her "Flight of the Bumblebee" performance"), agility and intonation. Though her studio output is, for the most part, somewhat boxed-in, her live performances frequently show off her extensive "bird-like" falsetto and whistle registers into the sixth octave. Though not perhaps as legendary as Barbra Streisand or Elaine Page, Maureen is still an excellent, well-rounded singer, one who perhaps hasn't quite had the attention she deserves.
