Cosmo Sheldrake
Years Active: 2014-Present
Associated Acts: Cosmo Sheldrake, Don't, Merlin Sheldrake
Vocal Range: B♭1 - E5
{Vocal Summary}
The Lord of Whimsy Himself, Cosmo Sheldrake has made himself more mainstream since he partnered with Apple to include "Come Along" in their, well, WHIMSICAL commercial. Oh, and Pentatonix also covered that song too.
I could definitely talk about his songwriting for a long long time, but, seeming as this is a VOCAL summary, I will be brief. His passion for nature flows creatively into his songwriting (songs like "Old Ocean" and "Pliocene") as well, what I could expect from nobody else but Cosmo ("Run and "No. 3") creating some of the most interesting lyrics to try to break down and then giving up trying because "hahaha tardigrades!"
Anwyays by looking through this thread it's evident that Cosmo definitely has a lower placement, making him a bass-baritone. He's very resonant in the second octave, while also simultaneously being resonant in the lower-mid fourth octave. Singing in both a very low area and a high area with relative ease is a tricky feat for any singer to achieve, and Cosmo effortlessly implements them into his songs. He also has a falsetto voice too, making common appearances throughout his works, just to add to his expansive range (his range is especially showed in his improvisations as he tends to use a lot of it up there). His belting register could use some work but songs like 'Iko Iko' and 'Pig in a Pen' show some untapped potential.
Overall, dope singer. Lower range better than high range.
