I agree with this, some of the bolds you've linked have another bold within the same phrase, like "How I'm Feeling Now", you would probably be better just bolding the lowest note. Same with "Fade", I would just bold the B4. I think that would be a place to start with regards to being a little more selective.

Bolds are rather subjective, but I would say in the case of Capaldi, the Bb4 in "Someone You Loved" or the B4 in "Grace" are classic bolds for him, where as "The Pretender" isn't quite the same quality.

Fair enough, I guess. I'll admit, the C3 and G4 from "How I'm Feeling Now" and the A4 from "The Pretender" aren't that boldworthy by Capaldi's standards.
