Sara Delight Acker
Associated Acts: Inhabited (2003-present)
Vocal Range: F3-E5 (1 octave, 11 notes)
Vocal Type: Old School Love-Revolutionist Mezzo-Soprano
{Vocal Summary}
One confusing thing I have found in many top Christian bands with a woman lead on vocals is always seeing the band Inhabited from Texas on many lists which made me think it would be another hard rocking band. While there are moments in the band, compared to the likes of Flyleaf, Fireflight and The Letter Black, they were more on the pop rock side more than the harder almost metal sounds of the aforementioned bands. Nevertheless, their vocalist, Sara Delight Acker is still a unique singer in her own right. Being a mezzo-soprano who mostly sings at a mid-range she doesn’t seem all that adventurous a vocalist, however she still has some unique aspects as a fairly decent belter, and almost uses a head voice lilt that gives the music a unique mix of country, punk, pop and even reggae styles in her voice. Going from high and low mixed with passions that go from worshipful and vehement to sassy and playful. No matter the genre, Acker will stay true to her middle name and give “Delight” to any song she sings.
