{Vocal Summary}
Solo artists in hard rock can have a decent career with them being the solo name for a certain project although sometimes bands are what get the most attention. Tennessee native, Rebecca Éowyn Denee Krueger or just "Éowyn", has had a unique career for what she had in her prime. Éowyn was well-known for her mix of hard rock with gothic and industrial elements which made her a stand out in Christian alternative rock. Éowyn’s voice can be described as a haunting contralto using a yodel-like lilt similar to singers like Dolores O’Riordan and with the same gothic passion like Amy Lee or Anneke Van Giersbergen. Éowyn’s earlier work consisted of a softer sound with her singing in a mid-range voice that didn’t demand much in terms of creativity and was all about mood. It wasn’t until her third album where she began to expand her singing chops and began belting more, using her head voice and while her low register was still used it was not the main focus as with old releases. The sound of her music also got a bit heavier and more expansive which changed her vocal dynamic. Her latest album showcases more of her falsetto skills sounding more comfortable than before which she sounded as if she strained a bit but now has become more comfortable going higher. Éowyn is a unique singer for any Christian goth looking for music to relate to their aesthetics and despite her not as active much anymore she still will remain one of the most unique women in Christian rock
