Brann Dailor (born March the 19th, 1975)
Associated Acts: Lethargy (1992 - 1999), Today is the Day (1999), Mastodon (2000 - Present), Arcadea (2017 - Present)
Vocal Range: G2 - G♯5
Vocal Type: BRANN COMES AND BRINGS WITH HIM TENOR AND PEACE
{Vocal Summary}I am scared of Brann Dailor. The dude is far too talented to be real.
Many people comment on just how difficult Mastodon songs are on the drums. If you've seen any of his performances or any drum cams, you know that this guy is some kind of rhythm wizard who manages to make every song a complex, fill-intensive workout. With a reputation like this the last thing you'd expect for the person behind all of this would be that they SING.
Brann picked up vocals the latest in the band. But when he came in, he came in HARD. Brann's voice is naturally high and most of his singing ability is concentrated into absolutely SOARING clean belts that, while mostly within the upper fourth octave, have occasionally gone right up into the 5th octave with startling ease. It's incredible how well he's fitted into the cover songs he's chosen to do as well. He's also surprisingly proficient within his low register down the 2nd octave, just check out White Walker.
Brann may not be the most unique voice in Mastodon but he's damn good at what he does and he's a complete titan when he's singing and has already cemented himself as a staple in the bands vocal dynamic.
