[1] Questionable significance

1. The note is too brief to be counted. This will usually apply to exclamations, trills, or anacruses, especially if they're not repeated.
2. The note sounds uncontrolled. This will apply mainly to non-sung notes, as well as overshoots.
3. The quality of the note isn't substantial. If the note doesn't fit 1a or 1b but it otherwise just sounds like dookie, then this applies.

[2] Questionable authenticity

1. The note is potentially pitch-shifted or otherwise significantly altered.
2. The note is potentially sung by someone other than the subject. Usually this applies to backing vocals where other backing singers are specified, or ensemble sections where the subject's voice can't be discerned.
3. The note is potentially an instrumental. Of course usually it's obvious, but sometimes acoustic or electronic instruments can sound surprisingly human.
4. The note possibly doesn't exist. Usually it would make sense for these notes to exist, but the mix makes it near impossible to be sure.

*Lots of potential ensemble notes in Hamilton, but Daveed's voice isn't discernable in many cases. This is also true for the TROLLS Band Together soundtrack, but it's like 2x worse due to how over-produced everyone's singing voices are.

Also, huge shout out to Story 2. It's not just my favorite clipping. song, or my favorite Daveed song; it's flat out one of my favorite songs in general. Between the storytelling, the super unique production, the constant shifting between time signatures and the technical skill Diggs has to be able to navigate through that — it's really something to behold.

{Singing}Here are some exceptional singing samples. To start with, this is my favorite one of his Hamilton songs, at least from a singing viewpoint.


This Central Park song was a big surprise to me, since he's pretty conservative with his higher range for most of his other parts on the soundtrack.


Here's a bit of a different example of how his singing voice can fit in a different kind of context. I always viewed this chorus as the good version of "Tonight". 10/10 song by the way (and so is the second song on the back half of this video).


And finally, Fraggle Rock. Probably the biggest surprise to me, but he kinda kills it on the show.
