There are many ways that being a one-hit wonder could be a curse for an artist/band. One of the main reasons this ideology of being a one-hit wonder could be detrimental for an artist/band is that the average music listener could always associate a one-hit wonder with the only hit they've made popular. Yet, they can easily miss the fact that the artist/band has a lot more to offer as an artist/band. One of the ways that the average listener of music could easily miss how a one-hit wonder has a lot more to offer as an artist/band is in terms of vocal range, and how they can easily miss the fact that vocally, they have been shown to stand out more than the average vocalist could.
One of the most famous examples of a one-hit wonder in Latin America is the Puerto Rican boy band Son by 4 which many people only know, "A Puro Dolor", and many people are only familiar with the Latin pop version of "A Puro Dolor", not knowing that Son by 4 recorded the song first in salsa, as well as in English in which the English version of "A Puro Dolor" called "Purest of Pain" became a popular hit in countries such as the Netherlands and Malaysia. Many people are also unaware that before they recorded their hit song "A Puro Dolor", they started as a salsa band in 1998 by Omar Alfanno, and one can easily miss the fact that they recorded songs in their first album such as Preparense (a Christian salsa song, Son by 4 now sings Christian music) in which Angel Lopez has shown that the one who was, at the time, the lead vocalist of Son by 4 (Angel Lopez now has a solo career) was able to showcase his impressive vocal qualities, such as how he was able to reach a belted E5 with ease in the song Preparense:
He reaches a belted E5 as well in 6:18
Anita Ward is a famous example of a one-hit wonder in the United States, many people only know the song, "Ring My Bell" since it was the only song from hers that hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 1979, as well as the only one of two songs from her to managed to chart in the Billboard Hot 100 (the only other one was Don't Drop My Love which charted at number 87 in the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1979), but one can easily miss the fact that Anita Ward has an unusually high timbre in which few female artists possess, and how she was able to showcase it in other songs, her rendition of O Holy Night is a great example of how she was able to showcase her high tessitura:
Feel free to give examples of an artist/band that is a one-hit wonder in your country (or in other countries) in which you feel like they have had a lot more to offer vocally, especially in one specific recording of theirs that supports your claim regarding this topic
