Hailing from Columbus, Ohio, Tim Skipper of the ambitious rock band House Of Heroes has been one of the most acclaimed figures in Christian rock for his passionate vocals, stylistic guitar playing and lyrics that can go from quirky to impactful. Skipper's voice is described as very expressive and is known to be a master of textures with his youthful tenor voice that some have likened his voice to people like Billie Joe Armstrong or Rivers Cuomo. In all of his songs, Skipper tends to have a bit of playfulness especially when the songs lean into romantic and sarcastic viewpoints and going a bit more emotive in somber songs that tell a story of living in the suburbs of America especially in the late 40s. Skipper’s voice remains around the higher fourth octave while higher notes can be sung or have the use of falsetto that is very pop and soul inspired and is usually during the most idiosyncratic songs. His lower register while not as used especially in the earlier part of his career seemed to only gotten better with age as he seemed to use it during the moodier moments of songs. Skipper is one of the most unique figures of the late 2000s Christian rock scene and with such a unique take in the genre has made him stand out as a one of a kind artist.
