They are very fryish, but they're pretty consistently done throughout the song and I can hear some pitch there. Though upon listening again they sound more like G2s.

meh, I wouldn't count these nano-dip fry notes. reminds me of the Kiedis' G1 case. I think the Chemicals lows are pretty questionable but from what I can get Bb2 is the lowest I'd count if I were to follow the vocal melody

The difference between Kiedis' note and Daron's is that the G1 was a one-time fluke, whereas the G2s are done quite a few times throughout the song. They're also somewhat sustained.

sustained? are you talking about when he says "come eat some chemicals with me come eat some chemicals..."? cause that's very short and underwhelming and it sounds like Bb2 to me unless it ends with some fryish nanonote that can only be heard if you slow the video or whatever

Know this thread has been dead for a while, but as a fan of SOAD and also a new singer, I'm wondering about the, I think G5, in revenga that daron hits in the studio version during the chorus. Every live version I've found of them doing the song has some awful downtuned alternate melody that I assume they do because he can't hit the note live anymore. How does he sing it? Is it falsetto? Did he just have an amazing range? I always want to sing it but it's just way outside of what I consider comfortable since I don't have a vocal coach and don't want to shred my voice.

to answer you're question when they got back together they went back the the orginal tuning on the first 3 records(Drop C)
i assume they did this because they couldn't hit a lot of the higher notes live and imo the alternate melody wasn't that awful

yeah it's falsetto but tbh i am not sure if it's Daron doing the G5 BUT it sounds pretty simallar to the F5 in innervision so i'm leaning towards it being actually daron

Thanks for the response, although from my end, I should've done a bit more homework before asking my question. The bit I was thinking about from Revenga is during the chorus and it's actually an A4. That's what's been giving me trouble. Looking at the list of songs that has the A4 in it, it feels like it should be easy to hit, but every time I go for it I either feel like I am screaming to try and get it, or I just don't hit it at all. Should I keep working towards it to get it to be consistent or is it just outside of my range?

Firstly it depends on your vocal placement. Daron's relatively higher placed. And due to a lack of technique he carries a lot of weight into his belts, which could make them harder to replicate for someone with a naturally lower voice.

However, if you'd like to discuss your own voice and singing, you'd better make a thread in musical users. Range threads are exclusively for discussing the vocalist in question.
