Jake Rogers is something of an unusual case for a US power/heavy metal singer in that he's basically a tenor with a baritone style of presentation. His main band Visigoth are gaining quite a bit of momentum these days with their vibrant and soaring odes to the obscure gods of classic metal (such as Manilla Road and Omen), an approach that is greatly enhanced by his heavy mid range vocal inflections. While he will occasionally let loose an isolated piercing high scream or sing a tonally darkened 2nd octave note, he mostly sticks to his comfort zone in a way that leads to a refreshing vocal style for a USPM band. With a level of diction and vibrato more reminiscent of an Eric Adams but a tessitura along the lines of someone like JD Kimball, Jake is one of my favorite new clean metal singer discoveries.
