Hello everyone!
I'm new here, and I've got a couple of reasons that brought me to your site!
1. I'm starting to learn how to sing - I seem to have a bass range (I'm guessing C2-G4) but I don't have the techniques down yet, having only recently started formal lessons, and not having musical experience prior.
2. I'm working on a side project creating a dashboard on music - currently my data source is Spotify (song metrics) and Genius (song lyrics), as well as historical chart positions, which I'm finding less reliable data sources to automate the collection. I noticed you guys are collecting information on artist vocal ranges, which I think is absolutely great! I haven't yet strolled upon another site online which does this, but would be really interested in finding it for my own musical data collection (and to potentially help you guys out as well).
In terms of my "dashboard of music" - I'm trying to bring together some interesting aspects that a musician (or at the very least, an enthusiast) would want to know about their favourite artist.
My plan is to have this available to anyone online, and I'll definitely share it with you all when I get it off the ground. It's not for the purpose of making money, just a side project of mine I've wanted to do recently.
I'm not as musically minded as many of you I'm sure, and there's loads of ideas I'm sure you could give me for great data sources
Currently I have:
I understand some of the themes/data technical terms I've brought up might seem a bit confusing, and I'll be happy to talk about this in more detail!
Furthermore, if I'm missing things which would be cool to know about artists - whether trivia or able to be derived directly from music - I'd be willing to hear your ideas!
To give you a sample taste of what might come, here is a dashboard I previously made, comparing famous artists who died recently, and the effect it had on their Youtube video views. I'm sure the site could use some tweaking and helpful comments to make it more user friendly - feel free to take a look.

Currently I have:
- List of songs by an artist (and associated Spotify machine driven measures of tempo, 'loudness', 'happiness') - I can automatically pull these from Spotify and currently have data of close to 2,000 artists.
- Lyrical content - with goal to automate detection of lyrical themes by certain artists - I can pull these automatically from Genius/Spotify, and have lyrics for about 1,200 artists.
- Lyrical rhyming - How artists construct their songs with types of rhyming (potentially automatable) - Inspiration taken from this post: flypaper.soundfly.com/write/3-tips-lyric-rhyming-rut/
- Chart positions/revenue earned - This is harder to automate, but I'm slowly finding sources
- Current/Historical popularity of songs - (this is a bit hard to come by as many streaming music providers won't want to share this - chart positions is currently the best I have)
- Vocal range of artist (would love to use the information you're collecting to help with this and credit this forum if possible)
- Current opinions of artist - Twitter - Able to retrieve tweets about artists to automatically detect what people are saying about the artist (limited the last 10 days)
- Basic definition of artist - Could probably retrieve headline information from Wikipedia/Spotify
