{Synopsis}Possessing a unique taste for darkly theatrical pop and even darker low notes, Siobhan Fahey has remained an enigmatic figure in the music industry ever since her initial departure from Bananarama. Though she's retained her image as the Yang to Marcella Detroit's Yin in Shakespears Sister, Siobhan's ability to belt, wail and scream have always rendered her voice as more than capable of standing on its own -- perhaps even to a fault at times. Siobhan's air of mystery being second only to some notable vices, her sloshed vocal presence combined with her vindictive lyricism created a sort of uniquely relatable pathos for young adults during the increasing angst of the 1990s. This tended to not pan out commercially however, and Siobhan's proclivity for subverting the standards of a 'pop diva' has unfortunately left her vocal timeline slightly bogged down in archival releases and sporadic compilations; while she may not be the influencer she was set out to be decades ago, every project she's released brings something new to her artistic canon and hopefully fans will be treated to more soon as Marcella and Siobhan as Shakespears Sister ride again.
