In the same way that Zombie has one of alternative rock's most telltale chord progressions, Dolores O'Riordan was one of the most instantly recognisable voices of the 90s. Distinctly Irish, O'Riordan stood out from the crowd with her yodelled highs and her famous lilt (as well as her heavy, unmistakable accent). A lover of falsetto, but not a stranger to the 90s alt-rock belt, O'Riordan's voice was rather light, she wasn't really one to apply an uncomfortable amount of weight and she typically displayed rather soft projection (albeit with a clear, warm tonality) when singing low. Dolores will be remembered for her character and her passion.
