Natasha Khan (known by her stage name Bat for Lashes) is an English indie singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She emerged in the late '00s, receiving fame from critics for her eclectic musical style, best described as haunting and atmospheric. Natasha's vocal style is distinctive for being particularly soft and airy - her tone is very light and tender, and she frequently makes use of her airy head voice in the fifth octave, sounding somewhat comparable with a much less belt-y Florence Welch. If you're a fan of artists like Florence and the Machine, Imogen Heap and PJ Harvey, she's definitely worth checking out.
{A Few Examples of Her Voice}
Good showcase of her darker singing initially before she transitions to her lovely head voice in the chorus.
Soft low notes down to E3 initially, further into the song she explores her upper chest register a bit with some nice B4s.
The first song of hers I heard, her vocal performance here grabbed my attention - impressive C6 passage!
