Blessed with one of the most remarkably expansive voices on the planet, Happy Rhodes is an alternative singer-songwriter, famed for her eclectic (if depressing) music and astonishing voice. Happy's vocal placement is obviously an extremely unusual one - with one of her songs being erroneously thought of as a "duet between Annie Lennox and Kate Bush", it's not difficult to see how she is difficult to be categorised vocally, and many of her songs comfortably span over two octaves because of her unusually wide tessitura. In her upper register she boasts a feather-light head voice, though Happy's chest voice indicates she is, in fact, a deceptively low-placed singer; her lower register is almost unbelievably strong low into the second octave, especially noticeable when juxtaposed with her upper register. In equal parts fascinating and haunting, Happy's voice is truly ethereal.
