Maia, known by her alias mxmtoon (b. 9 July, 2000) is a Chinese-American singer-songwriter. She does not disclose her full name, but has said that the name 'mxmtoon' came from her initials, which are MXMT. She chooses not to capitalise her song and album titles, nor her stage name. She has a low-placed voice and is only beginning to use mixed register as of dusk (2020), but has a deceptively wide falsetto range, with most of her higher notes hidden in backing vocals.
