An English star of both stage and screen, Julie Andrews is a name who needs no introduction. She began performing in the West End at the age of just thirteen years old, quickly becoming known on stage for her sensational singing voice. Later on, Julie turned her attention from Broadway roles to cinema, starring in some of the most beloved musicals of all time - in the '60s she played leading roles in films like Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music, earning both widespread critical acclaim and public admiration for her abilities. Undoubtedly one of the most beloved West End performers and one of the most memorable voices of all time.
Julie's instantly recognisable voice brought life to every single one of her roles. Classically trained as a soprano from a young age, Julie's vocal approach generally was centred around her blissful upper register as she frequently sung into the upper fifth octave with amazing ease and agility. Over time, though, Julie's once-pristine soprano lowered fairly dramatically to that of a mezzo-soprano; by the '90s, her voice was much weightier and somewhat less confident singing high, to the point where in 1997 she received unsuccessful surgery for vocal nodules. Though now sadly unable to use her once exemplary instrument, Julie's legacy as arguably the most recognisable and pristine voice in musical theatre lives on.
{A few Examples of her voice}
A pretty nice showcase of how distinctive Julie's voice is - very characterful singing with a lovely agile passage up to B♭5 at 3:07.
A very head voice-focused performance that only gets higher as it goes on!
Something from Julie's later career - more low singing here but her vocal performance is sublime nonetheless.

The source I used for Julie's discography was Discogs, not Wikipedia. The albums listed here include a mixture of Julie's solo albums, live albums and recorded soundtracks. While I doubt this is the case, several albums may have somewhat incorrect ranges as I had to notewatch them via YouTube Topic videos and from checking a few different versions of the songs there was usually some difference as to what key it was in. For reference, I always used The Orchard Enterprises versions of the songs for consistency and - if possible - I checked multiple versions.
