Kind of an out there one, but I'd like a Barry White version of "Here I Go Again". Probably have to leave out a high note or two, but his ultra-hefty belt would have sounded lit on those G4s.

A few challenges I'd have liked to hear folks tackle in their prime: Bruce Dickinson, "Titanium" by David Guetta/Sia. This is hard to imagine. But it would help to pad out Bruce's understocked Eb5 section. I think a prime Tom Jones would have slayed "9 to 5" if he could transpose it down a minor third or so.

Marvin Gaye - What A Fool Believes
I think he could've nailed that song.

Freddie Mercury from Barcelona singing "Nessun Dorma" That would be beautiful and I can 100% imagine what it could sound like. Some ideas: 70's Leo Sayer singing "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" by Elton John. Debut's Björk singing "Stella By Starlight". Kate Bush singing "Captain for Dark Mornings" by Laura Nyro. Joan Jett singing "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac. Martika singing "In Your Eyes" by Yurie Kokubu. Yurie Kokubu singing "Toy Soldiers" by Martika. =P Peter Gabriel singing "Cloudbusting" by Kate Bush.

Ronnie James Dio singing Run to the Hills - i think he would have nailed those rough verses and killed the chorus. Might have ducked those E5s live but could have done them in studio.
Bruce Dickinson singing anything from musical theater. He has the sense of drama and flair. Maybe in his prime taking on Jesus Christ Superstars Gethsemane. My lawd.

Brad Delp singing "Never Say Die" (Black Sabbath). It seems like the kind of song that would work well in his money zone (in particular it reminds me a bit of "Smokin'').

Rod Stewart at his best would have done a good "Wild Horses". Oddly, he did have a song called "The Wild Horse".

Simon & Garfunkel singing "My Favourite Things" from "The Sound of Music", accompanied at first with just Paul Simon's acoustic guitar, and then building up to a big orchestral backdrop.

Not exactly, a cover, but a guest spot that I think could have been really good. "Tornado of Souls" by Megadeth has so much going well for it, but even as someone who will usually defend Dave's singing, the vocals on that track were dreadful. Well, two years earlier, Dave Mustaine produced Sanctuary's debut, "Refuge Denied", and I can but wonder what a 29-year-old Warrel Dane could have done with Tornado had he been drafted to wail over it.

2112-era Geddy Lee singing "For Those About to Rock" by AC/DC. I think he would've nailed it. I pick that album in particular because I think there he hit the perfect mix of sounding gritty and powerful but also very well-controlled, which would've fit the song excellently. Carl Wilson singing "Funny How Love Is" by Queen. The song's style reminds me quite a bit of the few post-Pet Sounds songs i've heard by them, and I think it would fit his voice well. Also, since Freddie Mercury had sang "I Can Hear Music", which the Beach Boys had also done, it would've been a sort of "returning the favor". I say Carl because he had a stronger belting range than Brian.

This might seem like a left-field choice, but King Diamond singing "Friday I'm In Love" by the Cure. His tone in the fourth octave actually reminds me more than a bit of Robert Smith's.

Mariah Carey singing Painkiller by Judas Priest one octave higher than the original I'm sorry but this would sound like pure hell as for covers I'd want to hear, probably Billy Joel singing Here I Go Again by Whitesnake would be up there
