Barry Gibb struggles with G4s in the exact same way (if not worse), yet he is pretty much universally agreed to be a tenor (at least by this forum). As challenging as those G4s are, plenty of tenors struggle with that note, especially doing it in what's basically pure chest voice like Price is doing in that recording. Some tenors are likely to struggle with a G4 because it's in the secondo passaggio area, which may be an entirely different problem. But ref the recent discussion here about voice types in terms of tessitura and brightness. The Gibbs all sound very bright, at any pitch. Which may lead people to think of them all as tenors, but they may not all be that. Yeah, I wouldn't say Barry and Maurice had particularly bright voices. Robin definitely, and you could definitely make the argument for Andy too. But Barry's voice wasn't all that bright. It wasn't very low either, but it sounded quite heavy. People often get fooled into thinking he has a higher voice by his tendency to use his falsetto register. {Barry Examples} Perhaps Prince just had a stronger lower register than Barry and is still a tenor with a similar placement (which is possible, because Barry had a pretty weak lower register in general).

Ok, I didn't want to have to admit this, but...
In the late 90s, I worked as a bartender in Basingstoke. One night, in strolled this familiar looking gent with a lot of chest hair. I couldn't quite clock him, but then I suddenly, it struck me. "Good heavens, you're Barry Gibb!" I cried. Bazza was like "yeah yeah alright keep your voice down mate" and I complied. He ordered a whiskey on the rocks, and I apologised to Mr. Gibb that I would have to check his ID. I informed him that it was nothing personal, just the pub landlord was a right bellend who would fire me if I didn't enforce his bogus policies, even on global superstars. To his credit, he complied with nothing more than an eyeroll. Nice bloke. I read his ID, and I noticed something. His full name was actually "Baritenor Gibb", Barry being a shortened version. I had a good poker face when checking his ID, but that's how I knew Barry Gibb was the Earth Angel Baritenor, summoned from heaven to fight evil... or something like that? I don't know.
So all in all, Prince is a bass and Barry Gibb is the Earth Angel Baritenor. Now we can stop this ouroboros headass debate and hype up Macca's A1 or whatever we do when we're not doing this.

Prince was actually a regular tenor despite overbrightening, making it sounding much brighter than it actually was. His secondo break was around F#4/G4.

This is the type of brainrot where we shouldn't even engage further, frankly. Prince's "secondo break being around F#4/G4" is such a false statement in every way, that's starting to approach the higher tenor area and makes all this discussion a waste of time because we're steering so far away from factuality of any kind, somebody change the topic fast

Nobody cares, let's move on Sophiam does that a lot, "that singer has secondo passaggio at X#". I don't know if there is some encyclopedia involved in that or if it's the poster's own opinion.

Every subject online is bound to attract a village idiot type or someone who confidently preaches absolute falsehoods while nobody else agrees. Nobody here agrees with Sophiam or will ever be convinced otherwise, end of discussion. If there's further contention, I recommend those who support Sophiam's viewpoint to start an alternative forum where they offer alternative viewpoints to this forum, this is the type of discussion that was relevant about a decade ago in the legacy TRP
