He had a median speaking fundamental frequency of 117.3 Hz. As I understand, spoken notes generally aren't counted towards a singers vocal range here. So, for example, the C#2 that Freddie supposedly hits in the "Musical Prostitute" interview wouldn't really be counted here. I'm guessing that's what you're talking about, with where his general vocal placement was when speaking? Sorry if I'm totally misunderstanding.

Hey all, I just realised that earlier in this thread I misidentified a G#6 as a Bb6. In the original video I was referencing from they had referred to the note as an Ab6, and I made the mistake of thinking it was a Bb6. So I'm sorry if that caused any confusion. youtu.be/vKozb064BN8Also, could I get an opinion on the note at 16:40 please? It seems quite solid to me.

Well, it's not called the note heard around the world for nothing. It's really incredibly powerful. youtu.be/LYkUScQG3L4How do we feel about the falsetto/whistle notes? The G#5, two Bb5's seem quite good to me. The D6 I'm iffy on. The F6 is so brief that it's not really countable, and I believe the E7 just straight up isn't Freddie. Sounds too much like a guitar.

Hopefully if this thread is ever updated or changes hands we can include some of the discussed notes.

youtu.be/ZhhqMugf1k8At 29:22 there seems to be (in my opinion) quite a decent E6 for Freddie. I don't see this note yet in the Spoilers, hopefully this one hasn't been discussed yet.

Fantastic! After listening to it a bit closer, I think you're right, it might dip very briefly into an E but overall I think it's an Eb6. Very exciting stuff.

I think we're still missing the bold live improvs he does. His A4 at Live Aid and his Bb4 at Montreux should absolutely be included as bolds.

It's really a matter of opinion. Freddie has certainly hit higher notes than a D6. But a lot of those notes were rather brief, so a lot of people tend not to count them. For overall range, it's more tough, some people will say that you must have a certain level of quality to every note in order to count it, others might say you just need to hit it. Using Freddie as an example, he's hit an A6, under the questionable notes section, but it was a popped note. So most don't count it, unless we're talking about all notes a singer has technically hit, not necessarily what they're most comfortable hitting. That's how I feel at least.

Hopefully someone will take over this thread so it can be properly updated. Also, I still think that this F#6 at 3:30 is solid enough to be countable. youtu.be/J89lYKg0nHYBut I realise that's not exactly a popular opinion lol.
