her record has since been broken but her tone and stability on that B♭1 is leagues ahead of the C1 that other woman sang that took the record

Julie London has a very low voice. She pretty much exclusively sings in the second and lower third octave.

Simone, a brazilian singer, sings very low:
Here, at 1:24, she hits A2:
Nora Ney, also a brazilian singer, hitting G2

Would it count as cheating if I'm a trans woman? Technically, yes. It's just a question how impressive it is. If your vocal chords are thick, it's obviously easier for you to sing in the second octave. No one is going to be surprised that someone like Natalie Wynn doesn't struggle much with low notes, when she was a pre-transition baritone. But in the end, it's not too different from a cis woman with unusually thick vocal cords like Nina Simmone. If hormones did effect your voices significantly, that's a different story. (Kim Petras)

Simone, a brazilian singer, sings very low: I remember Elis Regina going as low as A2 in the song "Velho Arvoredo". 0:37 she hits a Bb2 (which I actually bolded at the time) and at 1:26 I think she reaches an A2, I didn't consider it to be as strong as the Bb2, and it's a bit sharp, but I think it's an A2. Bb2 would still be impressive for a mezzo as herself, in fact in the same song she hits B4s, which is basically a 3 octave span. Queen shit.

I'm not very familiar with her work, but she was undoubtedly a great technical and expressive singer

And one more, Jessica Reedy: Love her. Quite a decent high register too. Interestingly she used to sing soprano in choir. She spoke of gaining a very wide low register after having a child. Yeah, i saw her saying that. I think her highest note live is G5

This is a classical singer that hits a low B at the end of the performance:

Those lows sound super unhealthy. Should be obvious but what's so bad about them?

Those lows sound super unhealthy. Should be obvious but what's so bad about them? The one she starts on before going down, isn't that great. Bass singers go down there all the time. It typically involves "the wrong octave" - except for Glenn Miller.

Those lows sound super unhealthy. Should be obvious but what's so bad about them? Zero vocal fold closure on any of them, depressing of the larynx and also quite nasal. Just, not very good all around. Ironically the only healthy part of the performance are the belts, which is not the usual for Mariah.
