Salutations, esteemed members of The Range Planet.
So, claims have over the years become one of the most central things in how the forum operates. Anybody who has made more than three threads has come to be pretty familiar with that system. Although, it's been enforced in a pretty laissez-faire way so far, and as you can imagine there are some loopholes which need closing.
One of these loopholes is the oft observed thread-parking and users claiming more singers than they could notewatch in a reasonable amount of time (I am also guilty of this). In an effort to redistribute some of these claims, and increase productivity on the forum as a whole, we're introducing a cap to the amount of singers you can have claimed at once on the Singer Index.
There are some new conditions going along with the claim limit, so here are the new rules in their entirety:
Now, that's still a lot of singers. You should obviously still finish these threads as you are able, and moderators will probably give you the side-eye if you're consistently claiming new singers and keeping yourself around the 19 - 20 claims area. I don't necessarily expect much to change aside from the initial priority checks, but we are still in talks to tweak this system further. Any observations from regular members are of course also welcome on this thread.
If you are a member with more than 20 claims listed on the Singer Index right now, we're not nuking your claims or anything. You have time to relist your claims, but please do it as soon as you are able. At the very least you'll have to have that conversation when someone comes asking for a claim of yours.
That'd be all. If it pleaseth thou, subscribe and click the bell.

There are some new conditions going along with the claim limit, so here are the new rules in their entirety:
- You may only have twenty (20) singers claimed at a time.
- You may claim 'bands', even if the members on their own make your claims go over the cap.
- You may only have one to three (1 - 3) 'bands' claimed, and that amount depends on how much you're going over the cap.
- You should specify if you're taking on a band. Moderators won't be checking that by themselves.
