I think it's mostly about the way you phrased it. I actually wouldn't bold the Bb5 in Hey Jude. It's a very good note, but I don't think it matches Twist And Shout A5, which is "just" a semitone lower

I completely think it should be counted. I think the reason was because he wasn’t hitting the note consistently (which is an absolute bullshit reason if you ask me).

Amazed that I managed to find some notes that this thread missed!

He does the A5 scream instead of John in the intro here, sings the falsetto E♭5s on the chorus with John at 0:44, sings some B4s at 0:48 in between lines of the chorus, does what sounds like a quiet E5 scream at 2:02 followed by I think a quick G♭5 at 2:07, sings an A4 harmony on the verse line at 2:14, and belts up to some D5s at 3:04!
