Also sorry but is no question about how he/she apparently "have lost interest on some singer" for you; that's just a personal vision, and it honestly doesn't matter at all having other existing rules.

If I'm understanding you correctly, then you must precisely realize that according to your own protocol, davespeminar would have to speak with the original claimant since now a new interested thread has appeared (him) and he needs to know how exactly to procede with a thread ALREADY claimed.

I don't see the point to " claim" for a singer on first place (as here) if you need to fight for him once again some months after when more people want him/her.

The rules haven't changed, it has always been like that. The OP is also stating that if you want to claim an already claimed singer or take over a thread, you can contact the person and go ahead with the claim the thread if you receive no answer in 2 weeks. There are nearly 2k members on this forum with invested users. It would largely slow down the researches if no one ever claimed threads that were already claimed by users who go inactive for a while with no absence notification

But are we really have only two weeks for respond and if not then we lost our claims? I mean it is too little time... :/ and sometimes we have other problems in life they don't allow us to get online.

The two weeks is assuming you aren't parking the claim indefinitely, which is especially true with claims that less active users have made. It's probably a bad idea to reclaim a thread from someone else if you're not going to post it shortly.

That's more or less thing I wanted to opine if you allow me, I think would be more a question consented on each case with respective user rather than just let two weeks pass overall, but gotcha.

I mean, in claiming a thread you agree that you are aware of the rules, which includes the two weeks that your thread can be up for grabs. I suppose we would rather encourage collaboration as opposed to fighting over who gets to post. It does go both ways though, which is why I would really rather that we respect that by DMing the original claimant before starting on anything.

Hello hello, it's been a while since my last contribution to this site. The thought of notewatching pops in the back of my head every now and then, but it appears that listening to about a fourth of an artist's discography in a single sitting causes some extreme fatigue to settle in after a while, to the point where I can barely get through a new album in a day.

I'll be restating a whole bunch of my claims here. Keeping a hard claim on the Fugazi guys for now (Swear I'll get around to finishing this at some point). I also want to keep my claims for Aimer, David Hidalgo, Kazu Makino, Hiro (MY FIRST STORY) and the Soft Machine folks, but I'd be willing to drop these artists should anyone here express more interest in researching them. Everyone else I've claimed in the past but haven't gotten around to making a thread for I'll be dropping due to lack of motivation.

I'm also gonna try to claim the singer from Kids Learning Tube (Matthew Lawrence but not the one that shows up when you google the name. The one I'm talking about seems to have little digital footprint outside of KLT and a recent music project called "Bridge Tomorrow"). The name should probably be listed in the singer index with some sort of note to avoid confusion with the other guy of the same name who also just so happens to sing.

I would just copy the code of a quality thread (using "quote" on the top right) and use it as a template, replacing all the singer-specific information. I'm not sure if there's an "official" template.

I'm unsure what you're confused about, if you're referring to actually posting your work in progress thread or beginning its creation. Full process: copy the code in a thread already existing (using quote on the top right of any thread in range stuff), paste it into some word processor software (I use google docs), replace the information with that of your singer (paying attention to formatting), then post it in "work in progress". Not sure if this is the part you're confused about but post it here:
