Hello, my friends. We have a real old school promotions cycle on our hands.

I'd like to welcome two members to our team -- one new, one old. Seb is our newest Advisor. Humble perhaps to a fault, which might be why his promotion is coming so belated, but his presence is impossible to ignore at this point. He's made strides in understanding the inner workings of our outfit and has long since established himself as one of the most reliable members of our forum. From the old(er) guard side of things, BAZanine will be returning to the team after many years of absence. He's made it clear that he's back and that he means business, and I'm personally glad to see him playing a more active role in the goings-on of the forum again. Welcome, you guys!

And in more unfortunate news, we are letting SailorBlue go due to some personal differences with other staff members. Obviously we still value the work he put in during his tenure as part of our team, and I must thank him for that before we move on.

Let's pretend as though this is completely normal and that my brain didn't just completely forget that we were supposed to also promote Henny Macc to Moderator. I swear my forgetfulness is not an indictment on him, though, because he's consistently been one of our most conscientious staff members in terms of the upkeep and the future of the forum. Practically having done the job of a Moderator for a while now, overall he's just made the forum a nicer place to be. Only now he's getting the title, the responsibility and the liberties to show for it.

Here we are again! The other day I was having a conversation with sylvia!! and it turns out she would actually like to join our ranks in the staff team. Now, I have no idea how long this has been going on, but considering her approachable demeanour and knowledgeable posting style, we thought it pertinent to rectify our mistake as soon as possible. Say hello to our new Advisor! We're proud to have you.

Some of you may have also noticed that Gatr has returned to a regular user. This was done by request and we're parting on good terms. So, before we move on I must acknowledge the valued contributor to the team that they were, a person who I think was instrumental in keeping the staff mentality grounded and reasonable where others were quicker to be hasty. I obviously still hope to see them around, on or off the forum, wherever that may be. Thanks for being part of our little troupe for this long, take care of yourself.

Oh yeah, and Smitty. is our Ironic Mascot now. He'll look great on The Range Planet cereal box.

kaji , Platypus , and Steingrim are three users I think should be promoted to advisor. Their contributions to the forum have been second to none, and I think they should be positively distinguished from the rest. These three are extremely intelligent and knowledgeable individuals and always add insightful insight to whatever conversations they take part in.

I feel like there should be a “Distinguished User” rank for people like kaji, Platypus, Steingrim, Bink, etc. who maybe don’t necessarily want the responsibilities of a staff member but should still be positively distinguished from the rest.

I feel as though rtim could be promoted to Advisor. He is very knowledgeable about the history of music and just a nice guy in general.
