There's something very wholesome about Myles Kennedy. With his evident knowledge of his own vocal range and sympathetic celebrity status, Myles is widely regarded as one of the 'good guys' in rock -- projecting a sort of discipline that people, young and old, can relate to. Myles is an example of how rock singing is supposed to be done; rather than burn out his inherent talent in five years or so, Myles continues to hone his craft as a singer through his knowledge of Bel Canto. While his nasality and avoidance of rasp might sound like an acquired taste on paper, with knowledge of his own strengths, from Americana to alternative metal Myles has made it a trend to tread as much ground in rock 'n' roll as he can while making every song he covers his own.
All of Myles' vigorously consistent display of versatility could be a bit intimidating were it not for his charismatic persona that elevates his image from merely a good rock singer to something almost sage-like. Even today we can observe Myles taking on new ground with his different band projects, and especially in his newly launched solo career, expanding his palette in both music and vocals in a way that is nothing short of inspirational for young and aspiring rock singers all around the globe. If there was ever a guide for a new era of rock, Myles would be it, and we can only look forward to more material that dads and teens alike can bang their heads to for the foreseeable future.
