That's a really good find! Brian is also singing very strong here, so that's a good example for his vocals too in general. Shame that more of Queen's demos and unused tracks aren't around, I'm sure there's plenty of great things to be found.

The demos from Freddie's last year are interesting, and they have some nice vocals. One of this example is Robbery (which is from 1990). Some boldable A5s in my opinion. They're definetely better than the ones on the album. youtu.be/wABxp-zDS4M?t=8I was listening to the backing of All God's People and I found a full E5 and E♭5 (but I don't know if count just one of them, both or no one since All God's People appears many times). But every time I listen to this A5 ( youtu.be/guPpf_gaESE?t=53 ) the more I'm convinced it's not falsetto. Thoughts and opinion anyone? youtu.be/guPpf_gaESE?t=21 here's the E5 youtu.be/guPpf_gaESE?t=91 here's the E♭5 And here a very nice A5 in A Kind Of Magic in falsetto. You can hear that is Freddie from the tone. youtu.be/0p_1QSUsbsM?t=79

And yeah, big agree on most of the notes you brought up. The A5 is great, but I'll have to give a closer listen to the notes of All God's People before I have a super strong opinion.

youtu.be/eW2wBtKTGPQ?t=77 Here's some F5s in Ibex's cover of Communication Breakdown. The quality is quite bad but you should hear the notes. I don't know if count it as black or blue because Freddie's youthful voice was a bit "misleading" (it's sounds like falsetto but it's connected). youtu.be/1lXwT7mxmf8?t=59I also hear Freddie's falsetto (the tone is very similar to Freddie harmonies and falsetto) under Roger's one (which is more powerful), although it could be Roger himself. The note is an A5. Thoughts and opinions about them? Also, I don't think the notes in Ogre Battle should be spoilered tbh; yes, they're rather brief, but I think they're strong enough to be counted (and also to be black, since Freddie's falsetto is completely different to my ears). But I know it's quite unpopular lol.

Could totally be wrong about that. I also hear Freddie in Nevermore, but I'm not certain of if he goes quite as high as Roger here. As for the Ogre Battle notes. The A5 I'm actually surprised by being spoilered, that's a solid note. The C#6 I think is too brief to count, it's basically a popped note.

I think the A5 spoilered are some which comes later in the song, although I could be wrong. I agree with you on the other two (actually three lol) notes: in Nevermore I think he gets the A5 too, although sounding weaker, as every falsetto in '70s compared to Roger, and the A5 is indeed stronger and I feel like it should be counted (maybe black, what do you think?), while the C#6 is much more borderline, since it's briefer but I think it's actually quite solid.

Yeah, the A5 I think is at least worthy of considering. And yes, I think it might be black instead of being falsetto. The C#6 I still don't think is very countable, too brief for my tastes, kind of like the C6 in Don't Stop Me Now. Just a brief scream. Nevermore I would have to give more thought to.

I changed them, I hope they work now. That Soul Brother note is really great, would you say that's falsetto or mix? I'm thinking mix voice.

I always considered that to be falsetto, but yeah, I think you could be right, it sounds different from the previous F5s in the same song, and the tone is similar to Staying Power D5. Very good call, could be black and bolded. It's also different from Cool Cat F♯5 to my ears. The same deal with this note, which might be an E5 ( youtu.be/dZ-hNCUthiU?t=124 ), but I'm not totally sure of the pitch.

Also, you're very good at finding new notes! Edit: After listening to it a few times, it sounds close but I'm not sure if it quite reaches an E. Might be a bit closer to an Eb by my ear.

Thank you!
It might be an Eb5, but I hear more like a E. Quite though note.

Hey folks, I'm gonna be revamping this thread with some edits that rob made so that we can finally get some updates on it until it finally gets taken over. Before I do that, though, I think we should try to get a consensus on what Freddie's highest countable note is, because I've heard some differing opinions expressed on that, and we've found a number of sixth octave notes that are worth getting an official verdict on. Here are the links: This clip has been cited as having E6s at the timestamp and at 2:55, though I'm rather iffy about both. Another E6 here - this one sounds more solid though I'm not 100% sure it's voice. Sounds like a countable D6 here. This is one that a few of us agreed is a countable E♭6 several pages back. This one sounds like a fairly solid E♭6 as well actually. This one sounds like an E♭6 that briefly trills to F6...I'm almost tempted to say I'd count it, but I feel like others might consider it too short. Anyway, chime in with your thoughts folks! When we get enough answers to get a solid ruling, I'll update the OP. Are you guys still thinking about this revamp? It would be nice to see some new notes we found and discussed here (unless I've become blind and I didn't see that you did some updates lol). youtu.be/kh78eOTtb9E?t=148 some very nice falsetto G5s youtu.be/un4QqOTAKzg?t=99 I'm hearing some buried Eb5s here under Monserrat. What do you think? I also feel that the low notes in this song (from the previous verse) might be a nice boldcall.

Agreed innuendo. A good revamp is sorely overdue. A singer of this calibre deserves it.

I was listening to this *beautiful* vocal isolation of Bohemian Rhapsody and I noticed this note ( youtu.be/w7VA54b0Z-Y?t=140 ), and I hear it as G5/A5. Is it the note that is already in the thread? Because it sounds pretty like Freddie to my ears. youtu.be/sEhYFnwTciQ?t=176 here is a falsetto F5/F♯5 in Was It All Worth It, for The Miracle highest note! What do you think? youtu.be/CEjU9KVABao?t=232 nice falsetto D5 in Breakthru I also think that harmonies of Funny How Love Is are Roger plus Freddie, so there are some nice high falsetto notes.

youtu.be/7RGCoDJdiRA?t=331 some very very nice G2s in Overture Piccante (I hear them going down to F2 on "roll the dice", they are also repeated in the next bit at 5:53 (I hear it going down to F2/F♯2 on "weaknesses"). I really like his low notes (and baritone tone) on Barcelona. Thoughts and opinions? youtu.be/OPizyP4x30I?t=200 nice C♯5 here, very nice tone too (Sorry if I'm posting a lot here, but since I listen to a lot of Fred I hear some very nice notes lol).

Never a bad thing to find new notes. Plus, this helps fill out his lower range a bit more, so they're great finds.

I think that the album ranges of News Of The World and Jazz are wrong: the highest note from NOTW is the C#5 in It's Late, there's no blue G5 in the thread; the same goes for Jazz, I don't see any black D5 on it, I think the highest are the C#5s in Dead On Time.

That's a really good point. I'll have to give News of the World another listen, cause I imagine he sung a G5 somewhere in the album, knowing how he seems to sing that note a lot. Maybe it was just missed, or heck, he might have literally just not sung a G5 on the album. Same for the D5 in Jazz, not sure where that came from lol, but I might just be missing something.
