Does the context "trying to hit a high note" really differ considerably from "trying to hit her highest note"? And again, I'm only using it as an example because it shows that the argument "we don't know if she intended to hit that specific note" is a bit silly. And it's not like the intent here is unclear. It's pretty obvious from the context of what they're talking about. I mean, to me, 'her highest note' does seem like it implies more intent than 'a high note', since there would presumably be only one of the former (depending on the point in her life I suppose). What I'm saying, though, is that there's really no reason to accept intent as the conclusive argument for counting the B♭6. It could play a part in the reasoning, sure, but even if that was her best, honest-to-god attempt at her highest note I doubt I'd be for counting it, because as a note it just isn't sustained or musical enough for me.

the note is barely a Bb6, she falls off pitch almost immediately What are you hearing it "fall off pitch" onto then? I just relistened and I can't hear any pitch besides B♭6 there. Does the context "trying to hit a high note" really differ considerably from "trying to hit her highest note"? And again, I'm only using it as an example because it shows that the argument "we don't know if she intended to hit that specific note" is a bit silly. And it's not like the intent here is unclear. I think you may be missing the point with the "highest note" statement. Let's try putting it this way instead - if someone in an interview asked her "hey Hayley, hit a high note for us" and she did that, would you not consider that intentional enough to be worth counting? Because that may as well have been what happened. Moreover, it's also probably worth mentioning that we've seen instances of stuff like this in interviews with other singers as well, and it seems like the rest of the time people have an easy enough time accepting them as intentional/countable. Another one would be Warrel Dane's lowest note, where he's telling the interviewer about how much he enjoys singing low and lowers his voice into the first octave to emphasize that. No one seems to question how "intentional" that is; so I don't understand why it's such a debate here.

You can intend a note and still hit it badly, which I'd argue may as well have been what happened. Would you not at least question the countability of a worse B♭6 even if the singer in question was like, "Nah, totally intended for that to happen"? I figure it's kind of on the same principle that we frown upon unmusical 'range showcases' in our own community, as well. Wow, that G1 is a lot worse than I remembered, too.

I swear it's like every new song she releases has a D3 or a C#3 in it. C'mon Hayley just sing a bold-able C3 or B2 already! She doesn't do because of her Soprano Tessitura but she can do it definitely, in live performances too

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo_WZ5hx1ls New song called "My Limb". Haven't even listened to the full thing but I just reacted to the lows of the verse (C#3s? and some growly stuff I figured I'd just leave at your doorstep to discuss).
