If you listen to the Isolated Vocal of “Money”; the two A4s he hits on “Well!”—are EXCELLENT. I definitely think those are Bold-worthy. youtu.be/vSEvyXNAOJs&t=1m42s and then at 2:05 Those are killer. Stronger than the bolded note in "Scared" I would say too. Agreed. I do think the A4 from “Scared” is great … But, I think those A4s from “Money”, as well as the Bb4 & G#4s from “Mr. Moonlight”, and the Bb4 & G4s from “Leave My Kitten Alone”—are definitely “bold-worthy”(stronger than the A4 from “Scared”). I think John’s vocal on “Leave My Kitten Alone” is one of his very best. He absolutely KILLS IT after the Guitar solo—where he keeps hitting G4s and then goes up to a Bb4. John’s in my “Holy Trinity” of Singers along with Elvis and San Cooke—and his vocal on “Leave My Kitten Alone” is one of my favorites.

Honestly, why is the A4 from "This Boy" bolded at all? It's not even a particularly good note.

His style rubs off noticeable on U2's Bono and Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, who took this technique far enough to ruin his voice within a few short years. Would you really say that Kurt ruined his voice? He was just generally inconsistent as a live singer from the beginning imo. The unplugged concert is seen as one of Nirvana's best, and that was recorded a few months before he died. Had he lived and performed longer, no doubt that technique would have been unsustainable and caused him damage. But I don't think it reached that irreparable point in his lifetime. If you ask me, Kurt Cobain never had a good voice to begin with, but I'd say his voice in 1992 was worse than in 1988. Not significantly worse, but still noticeable. Either way, I'm genuinely surprised Lennon didn't ruin his voice with all of that screaming he did.

A guy on the first page of this thread also suggested that one of those notes should be bolded too. In the same ballpark deliverywise as "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", so I see a case for bolding one, probably the Bb4 as its the highest note in the phrase. "Mr Moonlight" Bb4 and "Money" A4 are definite bolds in my view though. I'm with you.

How dare you not even acknowledge the life-changing.....E1 (I think???) at the beginning of "I'm Losing You"?!?!!! I think it should at least be mentioned in the "Questionable Notes" category.

I thought the G4 from "Stepping Out" was decent, but the A4 from "This Boy" and the D3 from "Nobody Loves You When You're Down and Out" are definitely not worthy of bold.

I heavily agree with that D3 not being bold worthy. That should be removed. G2 from "I'm Down" as pointed out on the 2nd page is much more boldworthy low note. With "Stepping Out" I think that there are better G4s but am fine either way. An update on bold status is definitely needed for this thread.

C'mon Holsety, give the people what they want He pretty much said that he's not going to update these threads ever again and that he stands by his choices for the bolds. Oh well...

I definitely think that first note from Mr Moonlight should be bold. Also, I just found this awesome alternate version of Mr Moonlight that really shows off John’s vocal capabilities. youtu.be/jg0x5P6DAKAI agree. I know you already got called out for making multiple accounts but the fact that you did that AND responded to your own posts as if they were someone else like this is extremely unsettling. Sorry for thread spam, just noting how far this went in case any action is going to be taken for rule breaking.. idk.

Honestly, why is the A4 from "This Boy" bolded at all? It's not even a particularly good note. Yes it is, although in this case I believe it's more the passage itself, and then you have to listen to it in context, the song starts kinda mellow, John's bridge brightens the song up and the A4 is the icing the cake, I think it is a boldworthy passage AND note, for what it's worth.

BTW what going to happen with this thread? Someone will update it more or not? I would hope so. It looks like Real Love is missing, and that's got some A4s and F#4s in it,

For "The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill" I'm hearing the E2 rather clearly in the left channel at about 1:53 on the word kill here: youtu.be/J39DC9t0I5o?t=113 I' For "Piggies" there this attempted vocal isolation which allows the Eb2 to be heard a bit more clearly perhaps: youtu.be/jT0ReXsXwe4?t=80 Also, I meant to mention this before but the last time this thread was updated was 2020 and since then we have had the Peter Jackson release of Get Back on Disney + which contains copius amounts of cover songs and demo takes of songs from Get Back and Abbey Road. I am wondering if anyone has plans to go through this material? The same would go for the rest of the Beatles too. It'd be a big undertaking but I would be happy to participate provided the thread would actually get updated with what was found, along with all the other notes that have been found since the last updates.

Ah apologies I know what you mean now. youtu.be/BBQPChWZ_rA?t=110 they're perhaps a bit more audible here on "it looks"? And in this bass isolation I think you can hear it on "Looks Could" though this could be reaching.

The first point of order that is to be addressed if this thread gets an update is the "Mr Moonlight" Bb4 rightfully receiving its bold status lol. You're welcome. I just realised I didn't link the bass isolation I was talking about in my previous post. This was the part I meant to link before: youtu.be/4rZT-BIESCc?t=294 Doesn't change how apparently weak the notes are though.

John hits a great G#4 in this live version of “Twist and Shout”, on ‘work it all OUT’. At first, I thought it was an A4, but I think it’s a G#. Either way, it’s a great note, and I don’t think I’ve heard him do that in any other Live performances of “Twist and Shout”. Imho, this entire performance is one of his best live vocals. youtu.be/3s3BJlu3nY4?t=0m22s
