Feel free to ask about or suggest things for the forum here. This is not a thread to report users in, however. --- Don't forget that this is an option, guys: You can access this option in through . Checking "BBCode" will henceforth consistently redirect you to the BBCode part of the post when in or , as opposed to having you forcibly switch from Preview to BBCode (which, as some of you may know, causes glitches in the spoiler codes and creates unnecessary spaces). I much prefer this setting myself, as the Preview part of ProBoards' WYSIWYG editor isn't reliable with the plugins we have installed on the forum as it stands (in other words, you could say, what you see is not what you get), and it creates more problems in place of the ones you were aiming to fix. If you want to thoroughly review your own post, my solution has always been just PMing it to myself on the forum. All of that might seem like the long way around, but, trust me, it keeps your OP easier to maintain and even your code easier to understand with all the anomalies weeded out. :thumb: --- Also, this thing: 1. When on your document, do NOT use the parentheses filter for # and b, do NOT use smart quotes, do NOT type symbols in different languages out. 2a. Type and/or copy-paste ♯ and ♭, or the language symbols; you can do Ctrl-Shift-V to paste with default formatting, so you can skip pasting it into Notepad. 2b. Copy-paste the ♯ and ♭, or the language symbols, from a neutral document into your editor/document. (4. Smart quotes don't have a fix, so don't use those to begin with.)Let's not make the Great EâÂÂ2 Troubles happen again, yeah? ;)

You have to have made at least 10 posts before you're able to send messages to other users. A bit of a pain, i know, but there is actually a reason for it, though it's sensitive information we can't really share here.

I'd have a question: Are you planning to also include (at least the most popular) opera singers one day? This would be an interesting project in my opinion

Hey! I think there are some issues with your search function on the desktop version. Is that possible? Edit: Sorry, I think I was just confused by how the results are shown and was looking for singers I knew where on the previous forum, not considering that this is a new one and not all singers from the previous one have been added yet. I was for example looking for Phil Anselmo, Brad Delp and Klaus Nomi

Have an introduction thread where you can introduce yourself.

i have a question: who is the singer in the forum with the lowest note and who is the one with the highest? i would like to know what are the most extreme notes that we have knowledge here in the forum also, the ones i've found is a C0 from Paul David Kennamer and an A9 from Nicola Sedda (however both these notes are in the questionable notes section, so yeah, i don't think they should count in the question)

The Pantheon answers all "highest and lowest" related questions.

Not sure how people might feel about this, but one new feature I've started adding to some of my threads is a "best displays of vocal range" list. This is a revised version of an idea I had way back on TRP1, where I tried just listing one singular "best display of vocal range" and limited it to being the widest display of range in *full voice only*, regardless of how good any of the note extremities in it actually were. Suffice it to say that this idea was flawed, much like a lot of things on TRP1 were, so we ended up abandoning it. The way I'm doing it now is significantly less iron-clad, and much more focused on quality of range than just quantity. For one, I'm making it a list of performances (up to ten, depending on the singer) that fit the criteria, rather than trying to narrow it down to only a singular performance that can earn that title. Secondly, while I'm still emphasizing performances that feature wide spans of range, I'm gearing it towards performances that demonstrate that range well on both ends - that is to say, if a song spans three octaves but the bottom and top notes of it are rather underwhelming examples, I'm less likely to list that. Furthermore, I'm also embracing the inevitable subjectivity of different people's opinions for what qualifies as a "best display of vocal range" (much like in the case of the best vocal performances lists), and not expecting everybody to always agree on what should and shouldn't be listed there. With that said, it could definitely serve as an interesting discussion point for threads! Here are some threads that I've done it for so far: therangeplanet.proboards.com/thread/1136/peter-steeletherangeplanet.proboards.com/thread/1153/kenny-hickeytherangeplanet.proboards.com/thread/1194/sal-abruscatotherangeplanet.proboards.com/thread/1164/ozzy-osbournetherangeplanet.proboards.com/thread/1125/michael-poulsenI'll probably add more as I go along, but these can serve as some reference points for now. I'm generally aiming to list songs that display a minimum of a strong two octaves or more, though that's flexible depending on the singer in question's range tendencies (i.e. Peter Steele's are all 2.75 octaves and up because he tends to show off both ends of his range more often; Michael Poulsen's starts at just under two octaves because he barely has any songs that show his low range). I've been formatting the range listings somewhat similarly to how people have been doing them for album ranges, though I haven't always bothered to list the lowest lead vocal note separately from lowest backing vocal note and so forth. Anyhoo, people can ultimately do with this information as they please; I just figured it could be an interesting idea to share here.
