As someone who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I think it's neat that a lot of singers nowadays (and a lot of singers on the forum) are also part of the community. So I thought, hey now, why not compile them into a list? It's nice to see representation, y'know! So far this is just based off of the singers I have threads for, but if you have anyone to add down below, by all means do so and I'll edit them into this list! Laura Nyro - Lived with her partner, Maria Desiderio, until her death. Was very vocal about issues such as feminism and animal rights. Apparently she's described as bisexual but I'd avoid this kind of label, I don't think she ever referred to herself as such and by the late 80s had heavily embraced lesbian culture, for example, which makes me think that there was a lot more to her sexuality than lesbian or bi, she might have been a lesbian that only discovered herself late, she might've been bisexual, she might've been pansexual, who knows, she was queer and a badass woman, though, that I know, not to mention one of the best songwriters of all time.

OMG, they were ROOMMATES. Anyway, Amy Winehouse, Brett Anderson, Dusty Springfield and Lzzy Hale have all declared out loud their bisexuality. Neither Joan Jett or Madonna have outright stated their preference but y'know... Linda Perry is lesbian, and Andy Bell is the gayest daffodil this side of the Mississippi. For a moment I thought you were talking about Ride's Andy Bell.  Also, Debbie Harry was bisexual but now she's not because it was just youth hormones or something |

hello, i'm reviving this thread on a whim i have: Alex Blue (bisexual) Casey Breves (gay) Mitch Grassi (honestly just to say that yes gay but uses only he/him pronouns) Donna Vivino (unlabeled, def puts herself as being part of the community and says she's loved men and women) and not my thread, but Kirstin Maldonado came out as bi a couple of years ago :) |
